Thoughts on Politics

As I posted earlier today, I think that God is still in charge.  However, I do have a few other thoughts that are keeping me sane.
  1. We don't have to watch or listen to the news if it is stressing us out, go on a news fast--listen to good music or sermons.
  2. The USA IS the best country on the earth, however there are many other countries in which people not only survive, but love their country and are happy--with out the perks of living in our country.  If our way of life changes somewhat, we WILL survive and even be happy here still.
  3. I think that the current political climate has awakened the American people to pay more attention to who they vote for.  Hopefully people will start paying more attention and not just vote for someone because of their party affiliation, good looks, or persuasive speaking manner.
  4. Never fear, if you should lose your job or have you income drastically reduced due to new legislation, there's a new government program for that! ;o)
  5. Remember to pray for our government officials.  I pray that God will:
    • Save those who are unsaved
    • Give them the desire to do what is right
    • Help them to make decisions that are best for our country
    • Give them the desire to put our country first, not their political careers or pocket book!
    • I have at times asked God to keep them awake with all the ways their bad decision will affect others.
  6. Again, I cannot stress enough the importance of remembering God is in charge.  Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
