Happy Resurrection Day!

Okay, I'm going to admit that the whole Easter bunny and eggs thing has never made any sense to me.  I am not going to say that I am anti-Easter bunny, etc.  However, it does make me a little sad that to many people the Easter bunny and getting candy, etc. is all they know of Easter.  I was really excited to have 54 kids in Junior Church today.  We had quite a few new kids that may have never heard the truth about this day before.  We had 6 people total get saved, three in Junior Church and 3 in the main church service!!!

Have a great Resurrection Day!  Don't forget all that Jesus did on the cross for us and that He rose again so we can have eternal life!

Here are some pics from out trip to Israel in 2007.
Gethsemane--where Jesus prayed right before He was betrayed and taken away to "trial".

We think this is Golgotha, where Jesus was crucified.

The Garden Tomb.  This is where we think the Garden Tomb is.  No one really knows for sure where Jesus was buried, but this tomb would make sense.
The empty tomb.
This is a picture of the garden around the tomb.  It is beautiful and well kept by a group of British Christians.  It is a wonderful place.  They have areas where you can sit as a group and sing hymns, discuss Christ's resurrection.  Our guide was a retired Baptist pastor.

That must be so neat for you to be able to picture things more realistically as you ponder the crucifixion/resurrection story, since you've been over there! Thanks for sharing some of your pictures.

Yes, I feel very blessed to have been able to visit Israel. I often think that I would love to live there. But then I remember they live in almost constant fear of war. Something we, really cannot understand at all. (Thankfully!)

We used your pictures yesterday during Bible class as we were studying the resurrection!
